How Squad Plan uses AI

Squad Plan uses an artificial intelligence (AI) model from Anthropic to write Plan A, Plan B and Plan C. The plans use real places from your city. When AI is switched off or unavailable, we build the plans automatically from map data instead.

Every set of plans says which kind it is: "Made with AI" or "Real places from map data". Friends who vote see the same label.

Places come from OpenStreetMap data, through Geoapify. Cost figures are rough estimates, not quotes.

AI and map data can be wrong

  • Plans may contain mistakes, invented details, or out-of-date information.
  • Opening hours, prices, addresses, transport times, weather, availability and safety can change.
  • The AI does not check whether a place is open, safe or available.

Please double-check everything before you book, buy tickets, pay a deposit, or travel. Check the venue's own website or contact them directly.

What data goes to the AI

When AI is switched on and you press Make Plans, we send the following to the AI provider to create your plans:

  • the details you entered: city, dates or trip length, group size, who is coming (an age range: two adults, grown-ups, some under 21, or with kids under 13), occasion, and the activities you picked;
  • any personal notes you wrote;
  • for paid users, the "Make it yours" details you chose;
  • for paid users, short summaries of your past feedback (star ratings, and what went well and what could be better).

We do not send your password or your payment details to the AI provider. Please do not put sensitive information, such as health details or identification numbers, into your plan details or notes.

Training

Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, inputs sent through the API are not used to train Anthropic's models. We rely on those terms for this.

Your choices

  • You can always choose not to use the AI plans and make your own plans.
  • You can edit the details you entered and make new plans.
  • Free users can make up to 5 plans per week. Paid users can make more.
